What's in a name?

When trying to come up with a blog name I wanted something that would be catchy, something that would be able to transfer to various different outlets (TPT, instagram, and Facebook), and I wanted something that was ME.  Enter An Eclectic Educator. Why? Well, first I want you to take a moment and read the definition of eclectic (according to google).

That's me! I am going to start my second year teaching 5th grade in 12 days (Eeek!). I am constantly pulling from different sources (thank you TPT) and reading as much as I can from a diverse pool of fellow educator blogs! My teaching style is eclectic.

Not only is my teaching style eclectic, I want this blog to be eclectic too! I plan will be posting about different teaching strategies, different resources, and different tools that I implement in my classroom.

Hello there!

Hi! I am so nervous/anxious/excited to start a blogging adventure! I LOVE reading others experiences and looking at all of the ideas from my fellow (amazing) educators. I am getting ready to start my second year of teaching and I am constantly being inspired by the other teacher and education blogs out there.  It started with me following some inspirational teachers on Instagram...then I found their blogs... and now I'm going to jump in and give it a go. 

This is not my first attempt at blogging (there have been many failures), but those failures  learning experiences will help me navigate this new adventure. 

I know this is a brief post, but my impatience got the best of me, I wanted to post something and this post was it! There will be more posts to follow and more updates to the blog over the next few weeks!
